— And a pint or two —

The Pub

The lack of through traffic, street lights and road markings give the village a timeless quality. Our rambling old brick and flint building has 3 beautiful rooms for wining and dining, each with its own open fire. We are well known for our food and everything on our menu is created in our own kitchen.

Our Village

Our quintessentially beautiful English village is a quiet backwater at the foot of the 712ft Firle Beacon within the South Downs National Park.  Part of the Firle Estate, home of the Gage family for over 500 years, the Ram sits at the centre of the village and is an easy stroll from Firle Place, the cricket ground, village Post Office and St Peters church. Surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the South Downs National Park, one of the most important chalk landscapes in the country, walk to Firle Beacon to enjoy panoramic views of the sea, downland, and the castle at Lewes. With access to over 100 miles of walking and cycling along the South Downs way, we are a perfect stop off point
